What's the difference between a screw flight and a screw conveyor?
The screw flight is the helical blade that moves the product. The screw conveyor is the whole assembly — flight, shaft, trough, drive.
How long does a custom auger take?
Standard turnaround is 7 to 14 days from confirmed order.
If a line is down, tell us at the first call. We turn around breakdown work in 48 hours, subject to a priority fee and the complexity of the part.
Do you offer breakdown support?
Yes. A stopped packaging line costs more per hour than the part does, so urgent replacement work goes to the front of the queue. Forty-eight hour turnaround, subject to a priority fee and the complexity of the part.
Can you match an existing auger or replace a worn one?
Yes, and it’s a large part of what we do.
Send us the worn part, or photos and dimensions of it. We can usually work out both what it was and why it wore the way it did — which sometimes means the replacement is a better part than the original.
Where are you located and do you ship nationally?
We’re in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, and we ship Australia-wide.
Most of our work is in New South Wales and Victoria, but distance isn’t a constraint. Everything is made here and freighted out.
Is the design consultation really free?
Do I need a drawing before I get in touch?
No. Most jobs start with a product that won’t behave and a rough idea of throughput.
If you know what you’re moving and how fast, that’s enough to start a conversation.
What makes an auger food grade?
Finish is specified per job. We manufacture augers and flighting from 9mm to 300mm in 304, 316 and 2205 duplex stainless, finished to the level the application requires — from a standard industrial finish through to a smooth, crevice-free sanitary finish for food contact applications.
Where a hygienic finish is specified, the objective is a surface with nowhere for product or bacteria to lodge, and a flight-to-shaft junction that cleans down properly.
Tell us what you’re moving, your clean-down regime, and any standard your plant works to. We’ll confirm the material and finish before you order.
